about

This album was the original inspiration for my 2011 Edinburgh Festival Fringe show, PassionFlower. Recorded in 2010 in Scotland, it's an intimate album that feature songs with flowers in their titles, and so often highlight struggles in love. From the extraordinary talents of Tom Waits, Stephen Sondheim, and Billy Strayhorn, to Edith Piaf, Fats Waller and Andy Razaf, this is an eclectic selection of tunes that hangs together in a joyfully pleasing way, no doubt helped in the main by the arranging talents of Chris Greive (Sanderson's husband and collaborator, and also featured on trombone). Also featured are Graeme Stephen on guitar and Aidan O'Donnell on double bass.
